The Chris Roberts Forest Foundation works on the edge of Kibale National Park in western Uganda, helping farming families turn a daily conflict with elephants and chimpanzees into more peaceful coexistence, swapping crops the animals raid for coffee, macadamia, and native trees that let a farm feed a family, earn an income, and rebuild the forest around it, all at once.
I spent time on the ground filming the people living this shift: farmers who’ve rebuilt their land and their livelihoods, and the CRFF team working beside them. The short documentary that came out of it isn’t just about agroforestry, it’s about what it looks like when people and wildlife find a way to share the same ground.
